if you like photography

I was reading on the NPR website and I came across this photography competition dealing with environmental sustainability. There are a variety of artists and photos; all of which are engaging, thought provoking, and beautifully captured. I highly recommend checking it out.

back in the usa

hi friends (and/or whoever reads this)...

i am home from rome! we left early tuesday morning (3:45am) from our hotel in rome to take an early flight to germany, where we departed around 12, to arrive at the seatac airport around 1 this afternoon (seattle time). so, some freaky magic time warp happened and it took about 1 hour to cross the atlantic and the whole united states ;) needless to say, i am a bit tired but happy to be home where i can rest.

i am so excited to see everyone- to swap stories of adventures and whatnot.

love. LOVE.

tattoo pictures.

T- Day

Well, I did it! I got a tattoo. About a week ago, Kait and I made appointments to get tattoos at this little place we saw when we visited Trastevere (my last posting). And today was the day! Kait had me write the word 'Today'- her last in the set of three 'Today' tattoos. For me, I made a line drawing of a sparrow flying. As you can see from this picture, it was inked upon my inner forearm. Niccola was the artist's name. He was very endearing; by barely speaking any English, we managed to communicate all that was needed and I relinquished my arm to his tattooing whims. Needless to say, I am so happy with the result! And I can't believe I actually did it!!
