Trastevere

This morning the group of us left for Trastevre, just across a bridge from where we are located in Rome. As soon as we arrived I felt peace sweep across me. Trastevre is a lot calmer than what the bustle of Rome provides. It is located across the Tiber (it’s name literally means ‘beyond the Tiber’). Kait and I stayed after our walk and got lunch at this little pizza place where the woman working spoke no English what so ever. It was fabulous and the food was very yummy. Kait and I almost died.

The rest of the afternoon I spent walking around, going into shops, and buying a few things…

I was telling Kait earlier that I have a reinvigoration with this city we find ourselves in- I went from amazed to overloaded to bored and now I am weaving my admiration back into this beautiful place and am able to see the city more for what it is day in and day out. I love to see the happenings of each week. I love little adventures- going into shops and cafes, not knowing exactly how to communicate but still having it work out in the end. Although I do miss home, I am happy to be in this place.
